Job Description:

What's it take to be a hero of the pool? A lifeguard, of course! These brave souls are the guardians of the water, keeping swimmers safe and sound. They're not just amazing swimmers themselves, but they're also experts in water safety, always ready to save the day in case of emergencies. From quick rescues to keeping rowdy behavior in check, they're the ultimate aquatic superheroes!

Job Tasks:

  • Ensure the safety of those in and around pool operations. Be prepared to act quickly to potential hazards, especially in times of emergency. Maintain knowledge and consistently enforce the rules and regulations of Blue Hills Country Club.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and pool bathrooms, this includes but not limited to - take out the trash, clean up any spills and/or trash, sweep, pick up any toys, towels or left over items from members, ect.
  • Be prepared and in uniform for each shift : lifeguard swimsuit, whistle and guard pack.
  • Complete an incident/accident report for all incidents using established guidelines.
  • Immediately communicate unsafe, broken or dysfunctional equipment to appropriate staff. Aid in preventative maintenance and cleaning of the Aquatic Center.
  • Maintain needed certification(s) to perform all necessary skills in accordance with American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Blue Hills Country Club standards.
  • Using established protocols, ensure appropriate communication occurs with coworkers and management.
  • Attend all program specific in-service trainings, as well as department staff meetings.
  • As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the members and guests while maintaining our Blue Hills Country Club standards.
